Hatches

I had lost count of what I had so today while cleaning the coops and rearranging babies dh and I counted.
As of right now we have, 4 Guineas, a trio of Golden Sebrights, and 21 Black Australorps
 
Just Hatched:
 
2/12 - 3 Buff Orpington (from Rindy, local), 5 Rosecomb (shipped eggs), 2 Australorp (my stock)
 
2/28 - 5 EE, 3 Buff Orpington (shipped eggs from swaps) sorry can't remember who sent them ;o( , 3 Australorp (my stock)
 
3/7 - 11 Australorps (my stock)
 
3/14 - 12 Australorps (my stock), 3 Sebrights (my stock), 3 blue/green eggs from PA swap (not sure if EE's or Amera's yet)
= 50 babies total

Batch 3 & 4, 2010 + Egg Info

Batch 3 went in the incubator on February 14th. We put in 15 Australorp eggs and 3 Golden Sebright eggs. We get to candle these on the 25th and have a hatch day of March 7th. March 7th is also DH and my Anniversary so these babies will be an extra sweet treat for the day!
 
Batch 4:
I received 12 of the prettiest green eggs today via Priority Mail from PA. These will go in the Bator tomorrow with 12 Black Australorp eggs and 2 Golden Sebright eggs. These will have a candle date of March 7th and hatch date March 14.
 
If you highlight the days on a calendar that my Bator will be on lock down it seems I'll have hatches every weekend between now and March 14th. Yippee!!! Lol
 
On the 25th of February I am suppose to be trading a dozen Black Australorp eggs for a dozen Jersey Giant eggs! My dh and I fell in love with these at a friends home about a month ago. Her's aren't old enough to lay yet but when they are I'll get a dozen or so eggs from her as well for a mixture of background so there'll be another gene pool in the mix.
I will update on the candled eggs tomorrow or Monday!

Batch 2, 2010

We set 17 eggs on Feb. 7, 2010.

7 Easter Eggers, 1 Golden Sebright, 4 Australorp and 5 Buff Orpington eggs.

The Golden Sebright and Australorp eggs are from our own stock. We got the Easter Eggers and Buff Orpington eggs from an Egg Swap that we participated in so these are shipped eggs.

We get to candle these on Feb. 21, 2010. Look for an update around then on these!

New Babies...

Batch 1 for 2010

Set 24 eggs of different breeds in the incubator on Jan. 23, 2010

Candled on Feb. 6, 2010. 11 eggs remain in the 'bator.

Between Feb. 12 late and early Feb. 13, 2010 we had 10 new babies hatch.

3 Buff Orpington, 2 Black Australorp, 4 Blue/Black Rosecomb and 1 Cuckoo Rosecomb.

These Australorps are from my own stock so these are like our grandbabies in a way...

My Website

This website is a place for my family and I to share what we have on our Painted Corners Farm. The children came up with the name since we have such a wide color scheme on our property. We are a family of 5. Made up of my husband, Gary, our three daughters, and myself, Jodie. In the house we have 1 Harlequin Great Dane named Allie Mae, 1 Rottweiler named Zeeva, 1 mixed indoor/outdoor cat for mice named Ella, and the children have a Hamster named Dots. Whew! That's a lot to deal with let me tell ya ;o)! As far as outside goes we have 5 Guineas, a trio of Golden Sebrights, and 24 Black Australorps. We have 3 Buff Orpington, 5 Rosecomb and 2 Black Australorp in the baby hutch that just hatched.
